Pupils of High Schools and Higher Secondary Colleges run by SC&ST department in the tribal dominated Sundargarh district will not face any problem or worry about not fitting in the society as they find their place in their careers and find their life .
The movement aims to turn college students into confident youngsters ready to take on the modern world with training, looks, etiquette, and style. The program is expected to visit nearly 14,000 college students and 720 high school students or stay in the dorms of the ST&SC department.
According to Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, Sundargarh District Welfare Officer, the majority of students in forty secondary schools and six senior secondary schools below the ST&SC department are tribal and about 70 percent are female. “Almost all students are ignorant or unconcerned about personal appearance and hygiene, which contributes to their lack of self-confidence. In some cases, male students have strange haircuts," he said.
According to the DWO, it is proposed that each college employ a beautician and a hairdresser for one year each for women and children. Each university could be equipped with rooms to fix and improve the appearance of students. Female students may be entitled to basic beauty services such as facials, pedicures, manicures, hairstyling and eyebrow shaping on a regular basis. They would also be bred to maintain grooming and hygiene in addition to dressing.
As for the children, they are trained to dress and have a proper haircut, which can boost their confidence to present themselves in front of anyone along with future employers. In 12 months, students can be taught completely different techniques to improve their appearance and personal hygiene while caring for teenage college students. The program could be an ongoing process. This can also extend to skills development for many interested in practicing their profession. The proposal could be implemented after the consent of the collector.
